What types of blades are there for slitting machines?
October 12 , 2026
Slitting knives are the core cutting components of slitting machines, mainly used for slitting materials like films, paper, and composites. Their performance directly affects cutting efficiency and product quality. Based on the slitting process, they can be divided into square blades and circular blades: square blades use a razor-type slitting principle, suitable for 70-130μm materials, and include grooved slitting and floating slitting modes; circular blades are suitable for materials over 100μm, covering shear and compression slitting, with non-tangential slitting improving precision.

The blade structure uses a substrate surface covered with a gradient hard film design, with varying thickness in different areas (for example, the average thickness of the third hard film layer is more than double that of the outer edge) to enhance wear resistance. Innovative installation solutions include positioning pin group switching, magnetic adsorption, and tilted hole bolt fixing, allowing the blade to switch working modes and extend its lifespan. Some models use a dual-blade collaborative system and ceramic components, with a through-hole connection mechanism to improve stability. During operation, the blade type should match the material properties, and a special adjustment device is used to maintain cutting precision and avoid overloading.
